Let the Light In

Released on January 4th.

Recorded at Bang A Song Studios, Gloucester, MA.

I had the verses to this song written for awhile and it was supposed to be an upbeat toon with themes of love and such. I could not for the life of me find a chorus for the song. Then I thought about Bob Marley and how honest some of his lyrics were, as if he were telling the story word for word or adressing a friend. I had to finish the song for a songwriting contest, I had not written a chorus, my fingers were all blue from playing guitar all night, then it was all clear to just sing the truth about love and light and how I felt. Let the light in was born. -Sage

Cold Hearted Lover

Released on December 4th.

Recorded at Bang A Song Studios, Gloucester, MA.

When I was a kid used to run around the house singing the lyrics "what a beautiful face, I have found in this place, that is circling all round' the sun." It's from a neutral milk hotel song, in an aeroplane over the sea. When I met Kirin and I couldn't stop singing the song and wanted to make my own song inspired by the lyric. It started of like this, "The first time I saw you standing there, dark brown eyes and pretty black hair. My world will burst to fuzz and flame, like the first time I heard in an Aeroplane. Such a pretty face! If someday came maybe she'd know." I also talk about our moon phases matching up in the song and thats pretty cool because it ties into my cultural values. If you're indigenous and in love or have been in love this song is for you. If you want to hear it, go listen to it and stop reading this:) -Sage

Apache Boys Don't Cry (Live)

Released on November 28th.

Recorded live at Relative Arts, Lenapehoking.

I wrote this song just because it was fun and unique to who I am. When I was younger my Grandma Erma used to take me out of school all the time, just to hang out. We would go to the Diamond Creek gas station get Pizza and Slush Puppies, go home, water the grass, then watch cartoons. My Grandpa Unch taught me a lot about music like how to be a rock n' roller and a rolling stone. He used to call me lightnin' boy. The title of the song may be misleading, but the song is supposed to encourage Apache boys to cry. In the lyrics I say "Apache boys don't cry, they just do what their told. Apache men don't cry they just piss and moan, back when we were children and now we all have grown. Lift the dust from your eyelids and let the waterworks flow." The very last line of the chorus is what is important. We're cool people and y'all deserve to hear our stories. - Sage

Heartbreaker

Released on November 4th.

Recorded at Bang A Song Studios

When I was a young lad, my grandma always used to tell me "you're going to be a Heartbreaker when you grow up." I lived up to that, listen to the song and you will hear. I learned from Jesse Ed Davis that it's cool to incorparate your culture in rock n roll. I'm pretty sure that's what influenced the first line of the song "Your Heart's Lyin' at the toes of my Moccasin." It has the most country feel to it than all the other songs, it's a classic you can't miss out on. - Sage

Caroline

Released on October 4th.

Recorded at Bang A Song Studios

When I first wrote Caroline I was sitting in an Uber ride with my Friend Kirin, I didn't want her to know the song was about her so I named it Caroline. The song was an psychadelic love letter to my bestfriend. I've always liked songs that were cryptic and had a lot of words like Bob Dylan or Jimi Hendrix. There are a lot of fun lyrics in this song and it has a simple groove, but that's what keeps the song movin' - Sage
